ACTIVITY 1:

Create the Movie Poster

a. Design and create the movie poster for Number the stars. You may not just print pictures off of the Internet; you need to do the drawing. Draw and upload your artwork.

b. You need to write an explanation of why you chose to design the poster the way you did. (This needs to be typed on a student response template)  

i. You need to explain how each piece of the poster relates to the story and use evidence from the story to support your design. 

ii. Your explanation needs to be at least 3 complete paragraphs with supporting details.

It is important for you to create an environment where you are comfortable writing.

– Listen to my Loom lesson on the importance of having a comfortable writing spot where you can put on your author’s hat.

ACTIVITY 2:

  • On the attached student response template, draw your own writing environment.
  • Try out different places in your house/room, outside/inside to see if it is your best writing spot.
  • Use your senses and descriptive words to describe the writing environment that you have created.
  • What does your space look like? Do you like a little noise or quiet? What do you have near you? Do you have to write in the SAME spot every time you write?
