Unit 7.1 – What Is an Adverb?
ACTIVITY 1:
- Watch Introduction to Adverbs video: https://youtu.be/94aFcx6oliY
- In this video, you’ll learn all about adverbs! You will be able to answer the question: “What is an adverb?” You will be able to find adverbs in a sentence! And you will be able to add adverbs to a sentence to make it more detailed and interesting!
- Adverbs are a kind of modifier that you can use to change verbs or adjectives, like ‘very’ or ‘carefully’.
- Adverbs tell HOW, WHEN, and WHERE.
- Example: Grayson ran SLOWLY.
- How did Grayson run? He ran SLOWLY. Slowly is the adverb.
- THEN I sealed the envelop.
- When did I seal the envelope? THEN. Then is the adverb.
- All the shoes were UPSTAIRS.
- Where were the shoes? UPSTAIRS. Upstairs is the adverb.
